Development Manager
OVERVIEW
In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave us the Great Commission—the call to make disciples and teach them to follow what He taught us. We are stronger when we carry out this mission together— sharing an abundance of resources and collective support that promote longevity for our leaders and our churches. The Great Commission Collective is a group of pastors, elders, and leaders who provide wisdom, resources, support, and community to each other, training pastors and planters to flourish as serve and lead.
SUMMARY
The Development Manager leads donor engagement and financial growth for GCC through strategic fundraising initiatives and relationship management. This role collaborates closely with the President, Chief of Staff, and Director of Member Engagement to execute fundraising campaigns, donor outreach, and development strategies. The ideal candidate is experienced in nonprofit fundraising with a focus on leveraging tools and technology to enhance donor engagement and secure financial support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising & Development
- Support donor engagement through personalized outreach and targeted appeals using automation tools.
- Manage donor relationships, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
- Develop and manage an approach for GCC leadership to cultivate and maintain donor relationships.
- Coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and grant applications to secure financial support.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit fundraising standards and donor acknowledgment practices.
- Build a values-aligned donor base by engaging contacts, telling the organization’s story, and fostering long-term support for its mission.
Donor Engagement & Communications
- Develop donor-centric communications that align with GCC’s mission, using various platforms.
- Create engaging content for donor newsletters and communications.
- Collaborate with the Director of Member Engagement to ensure consistent messaging.
- Analyze engagement data to refine strategies.
Planning & Strategy
- Collaborate with leadership to develop annual fundraising and development plans with clear goals and KPIs.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for growth through donor engagement and community outreach.
- Contribute to reporting for internal and external stakeholders, tracking progress against key metrics.

- Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a spirit of collaboration.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Donor Relations, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of marketing and fundraising experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of CRM systems and fundraising tools.
- Experience using AI-driven tools to enhance outreach and donor engagement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to create compelling fundraising appeals.
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising principles, including donor cultivation and stewardship.
