Meet Our Church Planters
God is raising up
church planters.
The Great Commission Collective is excited to support these men and their families as they take this bold step of faith.
Take a few minutes to get to know the planters, learn about their church plant, and pray for their specific requests as they seek God’s leading in this journey.
• Year 1 •
Sending Church: Crossway Bible Church
Prayer Requests:
- Finances for a renovation.
- Unity in the body.
- God to continue to build our Core Team.
Sending Church: Summit Church Rifle
Prayer Requests:
- A permanent building. We started the church at the library, and after 2 months, we moved into the Assembly of God building. It’s been a blessing to be there, but it is not decided on their part. Please pray that we would be able to stay there permanently.

- People.
- Provision ($).
- Place (for meeting)
Sending Church: Edify Church
Prayer Requests:
- That the busyness would not get in the way of the gospel being central when the church starts.
- Additional members to core group.

Prayer Requests:
- That our church would be marked by people coming to faith.
- That our church would be marked by honesty and confession.
- That Mariah, the kids, and I wouldn’t feel any heavy burden, but that this church planting season would be a season of rest and dependence upon the Lord.

Prayer Requests:
- Success with fundraising so that we can move to Cape Town.
- For God to raise up workers to join our core group.
- Our family has to manage all the logistics and emotional stress involved with moving countries and settling back in Cape Town after 7 years.

- For our three churches—Crossway (our sending church), our church plant, and our Spanish-speaking church plant—to have the people and provision needed to faithfully make, mature, and multiply disciples in San Antonio and beyond.
- For our family during a season of change with our oldest child attending college and me finishing up as a student at Southern Seminary.
- For me (Shamus) to grow as a church planting shepherd-leader that catalyzes a strong disciple-making culture.
